Moldovan road freight transport operators are no longer allowed to enter the territory of Russia, including transit. This is a predictable event that has been underway for many years.

An international tender to select a contractor for the construction of two new CHPPs in Chisinau is ongoing. Four companies – from Turkey, Hungary and Azerbaijan – are participating in it. The contractor will be tasked with the construction from scratch of two new CHPPs, equipped with modern equipment, with a total electric capacity of 55 MW and a heat capacity of 43 Gcal/h.

The Public Property Agency published the financial results of the most efficient state companies in 2024. Moldtelecom JSC, with 100% state capital, is among those that showed significant profit growth during the year.

The heating season has no fixed end date. This was reported by Termoelectrica on March 17. The clarification was required due to the fact that many residents of the capital resent the continuation of heat supply to apartments, which is reflected on the bills.

The state enterprise “Moldovan Railways” will receive 250 tons of diesel fuel from state reserves for prompt response in the context of the ongoing extremely difficult financial situation. This is for approximately four months of operation.

Polish airline LOT Airlines is discussing the possibility of launching cargo and charter passenger flights to/from Marculeşti Airport. It is also considering the possibility of opening an operating base at Chisinau airport. This is related to the company’s intentions to increase the flight destinations and frequency of flights from Moldova to Polish cities for convenient connections for Moldovan transit passengers.
