The “Green Corridor” continues to operate

Last week, strawberries and raspberries began to be actively exported from Moldova. These perishable products, like many others, should cross customs borders as quickly as possible, avoiding standing in queues.

In order to facilitate the export of such goods, a “green corridor” regime is usually introduced. It allows vehicles carrying perishable goods to pass through customs checkpoints along a special corridor and under accelerated control.

This year, no separate decision was made on the creation of a “green corridor,” since last year’s regime is in effect.

“From March 12, 2024, the provisions of the Joint Order of the Customs Service and the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) “On the procedure of customs clearance of perishable products exported from the Republic of Moldova” are applied,” Alexandru Iacub, director of the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova, told Logos Press.

The document regulates the mechanism of simplifying and prioritizing the export of perishable products, as well as the procedure of crossing the state border with this type of cargo. In order to ensure optimal conditions for the export of perishable agricultural products, the representatives of the CU and ANSA ensure the necessary conditions for customs clearance and priority passage of perishable products through border crossing points.

At the same time, ANSA inspectors, when issuing phytosanitary or sanitary-veterinary certificates for the goods listed in Annex No. 1 to the above-mentioned order, issue a marking “PERISABIL TRANSPORT PRIORITAR” (PERISABIL TRANSPORT PRIORITAR) for each transport unit. This marking, applied to the windshield of trucks, contains the certificate number, date of issue and ANSA stamp and is the basis for crossing the border in priority mode.

The order applies to 40 items of perishable products, including meat, eggs, fresh and frozen fish, live bees, dairy products, a variety of vegetables, fruits and berries.

The order applies continuously and without change from the date of issuance and will be enforced as long as the document remains in force.
