Two investment projects were realized in Durlesti in 2024 with the financial support of the municipality. A large-scale reconstruction was carried out on the territory of the theoretical lyceum “Hyperion”. The adjacent area has not been renovated since the founding of the lyceum, i.e. more than four decades.
The investment project was realized at the expense of municipal and local budgets. The cost of the works amounted to 3.5 million lei, of which more than 2 million lei was allocated by the Chisinau City Hall.
Thanks to these investments, the pupils got comfortable places to study in the fresh air and to rest during breaks between lessons. The works were carried out comprehensively and on large areas. Alleys at the entrance to the school yard were asphalted, paving was laid on the grounds in front of the school buildings, including the new school building to be commissioned in April 2023. Teachers, parents and students have been waiting for it for decades. At that time, the Hyperion Theoretical Lyceum had almost 1,600 students who had to study in two shifts. With the commissioning of the new building, it became possible to organize the learning process in one shift.
The three-story building, connected to the existing lyceum building by a corridor, was built practically from scratch. It is equipped with classrooms, digital laboratories, workshops and a gym. Each floor has locker rooms and bathrooms. The project worth more than 13 million lei was realized with investments from the municipal and local budgets. The contribution of the Chisinau City Hall amounted to 8.5 million lei.
The second investment project was realized in the gymnasium “Durlești”. This is the final project among the schools from Chisinau suburbs that have undergone thermal rehabilitation. The project was realized with the financial support of the Chisinau and Durlești local authorities. The cost of the works amounted to more than 3.2 million lei. Almost 2.6 million lei of this amount was allocated from the municipal budget.
The thermal insulation was carried out in all the blocks of the gymnasium, where almost 400 pupils study. This is one of the many projects supported by the Chisinau City Hall throughout the municipality, within the energy efficiency measures aimed at reducing the consumption of energy resources and ensuring thermal comfort for the beneficiaries.
As the mayor-general noted, the municipal investments for the modernization of educational institutions in the suburbs are aimed at the construction, expansion and renovation of kindergartens and schools. Thanks to the joint work with the local self-government bodies of the first level, more comfortable conditions for upbringing and education of the younger generation were created, hundreds of new places for children in pre-school institutions were created, employment opportunities for teachers and support staff were opened.
