Konunova and Enrico Pace will give a single concert

On December 15, the Palace of the Republic will host a chamber concert performed by the world famous violinist Alexandra Konunova and the Italian pianist Enrico Pace, one of the most exquisite interpreters of the European classical repertoire. He will perform for the first time in Chisinau. The program offers a unique sonic journey through the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Clara Schumann and Edvard Grieg.

Konunova and Enrico Pace will give a single concert

On December 14 and 16, the pianist will give master classes at the Republican Music Lyceum named after C. Porumbescu.

Enrico Pace was born in Rimini in 1967. He went through the school of Franco Scala at the Conservatory of Pesaro, where he also mastered conducting and composition, and then honed his skills at the Academy of Pianists in Imola. His career began after winning the 1989 Utrecht Liszt Competition.

He regularly plays with many prestigious orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam, the Munich Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome.

He has performed with many distinguished conductors, notably Roberto Benzi, Gianandrea Noseda and Zoltán Kocsis.

Chamber music is a special area of his work. For example, his long-standing collaboration with violinist Leonidas Kavakos has borne fruit in the form of the complete cycle of Beethoven’s sonatas, a Grammy-nominated recording.

He is a member of the permanent piano duo with Igor Roma.

Maestro Pace performs regularly at such prestigious world concert venues as Carnegie Hall, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and London’s Wigmore Hall. His concerts are regularly included in the program of the landmark festivals in Verbier, Lucerne and Salzburg.

Violinist Alexandra Konunova was born in Chisinau into a family of cultural figures. At the age of 6 she entered the Republican Musical Lyceum to Galina Alexandrovna Buinovskaya. She studied at the Hannover Higher School of Music with Prof. Krzysztof Węgrzyn. Her victory at the Josef Joachim International Violin Competition in Hannover was an important stage in her career, as were victories at other prestigious competitions.

Alexandra won the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow and the Singapore International Violin Competition.

Alexandra Konunova is a soloist of the Sergei Lunkevich National Philharmonic. She performs with many leading international orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre de Paris, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the NDR Radio Philharmonic, the Bologna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and others.

In the 2025-26 season, the violinist will perform at the Septembre Musical Montreux-Vevey, Villa Musica, Marseille Concerts, Château Elmau, Folle Journee and Verbiesque Festival. She will tour Sweden and Finland with the Norrland Opera Orchestra and the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra in Spain, performing Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto. And will give concerts with leading international orchestras.
