The opening of the festival was marked by the participation of one of the most famous organists in the world – Vincent Dubois, titular organist of the famous Cathedral of Our Lady of Paris.
On November 16, the traditional introduction to the world of jazz took place – the international trio Ana Carla Maza, combining in its music the influences of Latin American jazz and classical music, presented the program “En ritmo cubano”.
Cellist, singer and composer Ana Carla Maza, born in Havana and trained at the Paris Conservatory, is one of the most famous Cuban artists of her generation. She has performed at major European festivals and has been hailed by critics from around the world as “the new voice of Latin America” and “an artist who brings the vitality of Cuba and the sensuality of the classics to the stage”.
On November 18, the festival continued with the concert “Infinite Harmonies”, dedicated to the anniversary of Maestro Christian Flore, cellist, principal conductor of the National Chamber Orchestra and initiator of the J.S. Bach Festival. It was attended by the maestro’s outstanding students: cellists Claudio Bohorquez (Germany), whose name is widely known in the musical world, Ana Carla Maza (Spain/Cuba), and Anastasia Petrova, a young musician currently studying under Maestro Flore.
The festival will conclude on November 27 with one of the most important spiritual works in Bach’s repertoire, the “Christmas Oratorio” (BWV 248).
