"Zimbru" did not spare the debutants of the Super League
The match took place within the seventh round of the Moldovan Super League, which completed the first round of the championship. “Zimbru” hosted the rivals from “Politehnica-UTM” at the home arena, 950 spectators watched the match from the stands.
Viktor Styne, Alexey Shebetun, Denis Kozlovskiy, Vladimir Fratya (from the penalty spot), Niki Kleshchenko, and Timofey Sharkovskiy scored a double, hitting Pavel Sokolov’s goal on the 51st and 84th minutes. Six goals out of seven were scored in the second half.
The match was officiated by a team of referees headed by Oleg Stoianov (Taraclia), assisted by Andrei Bodian (Chisinau) and Artur Macovei (Ialoveni).
Zimbru head coach Oleg Kubarev said he liked the opponent in the first half. “They apparently made a lot of mistakes in defense… Or we played so well. We were worried after the first half, we had to make adjustments in the game. The opponent really played well in the first half – a cheerful attacking team,” – said the specialist after the match.
Politehnica-UTM coach Vitali Rashkevich named the reasons why his wards, who created two or three chances in the first half, failed to score. “Most likely, the reason is that there is no experience when you can realize moments. What to do that did not get such a score? We should have scored, then confidence would have come. Unfortunately, we did not score,” LigaTV.md quoted the coach as saying.
The biggest defeat in the history of professional soccer tournaments in Moldova was recorded in October 2017. Then in the match of the 1/8 finals of the Cup of the country “Petrocub” (Hincesti) defeated “Sokol” (Tiraspol) with a score of 18:0.
