Moldovan brands get on global e-commerce platform

The fashion industry in Moldova is experiencing rapid growth, as evidenced by the recent placement of three local brands - Georgette, Yulia Efros and Pearl Code - on Wolf & Badger's global platform. They complemented the Julia Allert brand already existing there.

The e-commerce platform is B-Corp certified, reflecting its commitment to ethics, sustainability and transparency. Wolf & Badger connects more than 2,000 independent brands from around the world, creating a progressive global community based on centuries-old principles of craftsmanship and artisanship.

The marketplace offers online sales, physical stores in major cities and an international audience interested in unique goods. Designers who are part of the Wolf & Badger community gain global visibility without having to build their own infrastructure, attract new customers, increase sales and build their brand’s credibility.

Julia Allert: 95% of products are exported

Over the last 5 years, the brand has evolved from a local workshop to a stable presence on the international e-commerce market, while keeping its creative roots in Moldova. Today, more than 95% of its products are exported, but the brand continues to develop its identity at home, demonstrating that fashion created in Moldova can compete at the highest international level.

“The collaboration with the platform has significantly increased the brand’s global awareness and facilitated access to a community of buyers who value independent fashion, attention to detail and timeless pieces. The fact that the brand is among the top 10 bestsellers on Wolf & Badger confirms not only the international relevance of products created in Moldova, but also its strong position in the segment of independent quality design,” says Iulia Allert, founder of the brand.

Pearl Code: jewelry conquering international markets

Pearl Code, launched in 2022, creates modern and feminine jewelry. Each collection is built as “capsule jewelry”, so the pieces can be worn in a variety of situations, from casual outfits to special occasions. The jewelry can be found in the local market, on the brand’s official website, in the transit area of Chisinau International Airport, and in Romania – in Palas Mall in Iasi, in the One Million concept store.

Currently, the production capacity reaches 3000-4000 units during peak periods and about 500 units per month in normal mode. The brand is preparing to expand production into the premium segment: gold, diamonds and sea pearls.

“The listing on Wolf & Badger is a strategic move towards internationalization, providing access to the UK and US markets as well as recognition in the premium community. It is on this platform that many creators have been discovered. W&B doesn’t pick just anyone, and we know they carefully analyze a brand’s reputation before accepting them. We will start with about 20 bestsellers that will be presented as a one-piece capsule collection,” explain Mila Tomsha and Vicky Maxim, Pearl Code jewelry consultants.

Yulia Efros: a strong presence in Romania

Yulia Efros offers an aesthetic inspired by Romanian symbols and lines reinterpreted in a contemporary way.

“We set out to present symbols, materials and lines inspired by Romanian traditions, but in a modern and relevant form for the international market,” says Yulia Efros, founder of the eponymous brand.

In 2025, Iulia Efros’ creations were presented at the Bucharest Fashion Week. The collections can also be found in Bucharest, in collaboration with Eshte, a space dedicated to the promotion of Romanian talents.

“Being present at Wolf & Badger is a joy and a great affirmation of quality, providing access to a global audience that values authenticity and quality. The first products presented on the platform are: the Cucutenian Dress, Royal Blouse and Case Dress, already recognized in the local market,” adds Iulia.

Georgette: 16 years on the Moldovan textile market

The Georgette brand was created in 2010 and its philosophy is that every woman deserves to feel special. The cut is designed to emphasize the figure and the materials are carefully selected, making each piece “timeless”.

“Georgette products can be found in three stores in Chisinau. For international customers, we have a website through which we deliver worldwide. And we were recently accepted on the Wolf & Badger platform. Our goals for 2026 are to expand significantly on the Romanian market and to be present on two more international marketplaces,” says Georgette Mir, founder of the brand.

International recognition of 4 brands

The access of Moldovan brands on Wolf & Badger reflects the development of the industry and the ability of Moldovan designers to create original and internationally competitive products. The platform, known for its support of sustainable design, offers an ideal framework for brands seeking global visibility without high costs.

Although placement on the platform is relatively recent for some brands, the results have not been long in coming. Georgette has already received orders from the UK and the US, while Pearl Code is delivering its first orders to markets such as Mexico and the US, confirming the real interest of the international public in products made in the Republic of Moldova.

According to the Association of Light Industry Employers (APIUS), the country’s fashion ecosystem includes about 100 designers and companies with solid production capacities and the potential to create their own brands.

Local brands are represented on international platforms such as Wolf & Badger, Doors, NotJustALabel, JOOR, as well as in stores in New York, Los Angeles and Paris.

Italy is the main export market for the Moldovan textile industry, to which 40 to 50% of domestic products are exported annually. It is followed by Romania, Turkey, Germany, Poland and the United Kingdom. Textile exports generated $20 million in revenue in 2024.
