According to CEC chairwoman Angelica Caraman, the decision was approved in fulfillment of earlier resolutions of the commission.

The most significant financial losses were incurred by the Democrația Acasă party, led by Vasile Costiuc, which lost 1,686,593.08 lei, accrued for the results of the parliamentary elections held on September 28, 2025. In the case of the Future of Moldova party, whose chairman is former Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev, the withholding amounted to 23,810.30 lei.

In addition, two non-parliamentary organizations – the National Liberal Party and the National Reunification Party “ACASĂ” – were also suspended. However, the amount of funds withheld in their case is much smaller.

According to the CEC decision, the amount of monthly allocations from the state budget, intended for financing political parties in 2026, is formed on the basis of the number of valid votes received in parliamentary, local and presidential elections. In addition, the number of women and young candidates actually elected is taken into account.

Thus, in 2026, the monthly amount of public funding is 1.0703980 lei for each valid vote cast for parties and electoral blocs in parliamentary elections. For a vote received in the general local elections on November 5, 2023, 0.6041582 lei per month is provided, and for a vote in the presidential elections on October 20, 2024, 0.6091774 lei.

Additionally, payments for actually elected candidates are set: for each woman elected to parliament in 2025, parties receive 11,250.64 lei per month, for a woman elected in the local elections of 2023 – 90.79 lei, for each young member of parliament – 23,126.32 lei, and for a young elected in local elections – 190.08 lei.

The CEC specifies that the transfer of funds will be made monthly and exclusively to those parties that are not subject to the state funding suspension regime. The transfers will be made to special bank accounts opened by the parties for this purpose.
