
On this occasion, the Minister of Finance emphasized the importance of completing the management team of the Customs Service, noting that the current management team will contribute to improving the efficiency of the institution. At the same time, he wished Ana Luca success in her duties, expressing confidence that, together with the other two recently appointed deputy directors, Carolina Gargaun and Viorel Doage, she will contribute to the development of the customs system, the effective implementation of the ongoing reforms and the promotion of objectives, including the European integration program in the customs sector.
The director of the Customs Service, Radu Vrabie said that the appointment of the new deputy director represents an important step in strengthening the institution’s management capacity, in the context of large-scale reform and modernization processes. He stressed that Ana Luca’s professional experience will contribute to the consistent implementation of institutional policies, optimization of operational activities and continuous alignment of the Customs Service with European standards.
For her part, Ana Luca thanked for the trust placed in her, noting that she accepts this mandate at the stage of institutional transformation. She stressed that, together with the professional team of the Customs Service, she will contribute to modernizing the institution and strengthening the reform processes in order to bring it in line with the European requirements in the customs field.
Ana Luca holds a Master’s degree in Management and Finance and Fiscal Law and has more than 13 years of experience in the civil service. She served as Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance between July 2023 and December 2025, and previously worked at the Customs Service as Head of Internal Audit between 2012 and 2023.
