
As it was reported in the National Bank of Moldova, in the structure of the credit portfolio of Moldovan banks prevailed loans for purchase or construction of real estate with a share of 24.1% of the total amount, and loans for trade (commercial loans) – 20.4%.
In particular, as of the end of May 2025, credits for the acquisition or construction of real estate amounted to 21 billion 906,1 million lei (+3% compared to the previous month), and credits for trade – to 18 billion 535,4 million lei (+2,2%).
At the end of May 2025. consumer credits were issued for 16 billion 478.1 million lei (+3.2%), agricultural credits – for 5 billion 367.4 million lei (+3.2%), credits for food industry – for 4 billion 543.6 million lei (-6.4%), credits in the field of services – by 3 billion 718,8 million lei (+0,9%), credits for industrial production – by 3 billion 513 million lei (+1,9%), credits for non-banking financial sector – by 3 billion 373,6 million lei (-0,8%). Credits in the field of transport, telecommunications and network development amounted to 2 billion 686.9 million lei (+36%), in the field of construction – 2 billion 366.1 million lei (+5.4%), energy credits – 2 billion 121.5 million lei (+4.3%), credits to individuals engaged in entrepreneurial activity – 2 billion 071.4 million lei (+1.9%).
