Chisinau will host an international conference

On November 11, 2022 the Center for International Private Enterprise (СIPE)  will hold an international conference "Think small first: building public-private dialogue between SME and government in the pro-European future", in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.

Ukraine and Moldova have many common points of contact, not only as countries that share the post-Soviet legacy but as countries with a pro-European future. At the same time, each country has its best practices and lessons learned in building interaction between small businesses and the government. It was especially evident during the acute economic crisis caused by russia's full-scale attack on Ukraine.

  • best practices and lessons learned from the Ukrainian experience
  • Evidence-based advocacy as a method for estimating the cost of the enforcement of the regulation for SMEs
  • Small business test as an element of building an effective dialogue between business and government
  • Institutionalisation of Small Business Test
     

Panel III. The issues of small business advocacy during the war in the region

  • the effect of the russian war  in Ukraine on the Moldovan economy and SMEs.;
  • the effect of the regional war and sanctions imposed on russia towards the SMEs in Moldova, and Transnistrian region.
  • risks and opportunities for Moldovan SMEs in the context of russian war in Ukraine: changing the market.

The conference will be held as part of the project "Business Advocacy: Public-Private Dialogue" within the framework of RECONOMY, regional, inclusive and green economic development program of the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida). The program is implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation in partnership with CIPE in the countries of the Eastern Partnership and the Western Balkans.
